In Europe, Albert had an illegitimate child with a linen maid in a tavern named Maria. They crave Albert’s good looks and noble pedigree and want him to take the goblin throne. The king of owls who rule the labyrinth is ancient and Goblins say they need heirs. Albert was so involved in gambling debt that he couldn’t turn anywhere and accepted a magical deal from the goblins. For the past year, he has spent the past year on hedonistic gads throughout Europe, avoiding his harsh father, who demands family responsibility and return. It also sounds comfortable like a “Titan” (social status of the family). The story of Jareth began in Venice in 1797 and is a troubled young British aristocrat, Sir Albert Titon (“Tito” is a genera of birds that make up the barn owl family, linking Jareth’s patriline and owls. In the framing story, Jareth tells baby Toby about another young woman who fought on her way to Goblin Castle to recover her stolen child.
